In the four years since the introduction of professional wrestling in Japan, a number of big foreigners fighters have come to Japan and fought fiercely against Rikidozan. During that time, he has made numerous achievements, including holding the rights to Japan fighters and Asia fighters, and temporarily acquiring the rights to the world tag team fighters. Finally, the title match for the world fighters rights, which was the long-cherished wish of the immortal existence Rikidozan, was finally realized. On October 7, 1957, Lou Thesz vs. Rikidozan was held at Korakuen Stadium and Special Ring (postponed due to rain the day before). Three years ago in Hawaii, Rikidozan challenged the rights to the world of Thesz, fighters, but was defeated. Since then, they have met in the first match of the century, which marked Thesz's first visit to Japan.
